Kajol – the goodwill ambassador

Kajol has been chosen as the goodwill ambassador and patron of the U.K. based Loomba Trust.
This charitable organization based in U.K. focuses on helping children of widows in India to have access to education.
Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is the President of Loomba Trust. She presented a plaque to Kajol and did the honors.
This function was attended by Mr. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee who is the Indian High Commissioner to U.K., Borris Johnson - Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone - former mayor of London, Navnit Dholakia - Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords and and many others.
A celebrity like Kajol is no doubt a great choice for a goodwill ambassador. Whether it is a cameo role or a lead role, her presence on screen has always been cherished and her popularity has never been affected even she has got selective about her movies. That is what we call true and unconditional fame.
As for the Trust, around 3500 children of widows from India have benefited from the help they received. Loomba Trust plans to extend its activities to Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
