Rajinikanth gives way to Shah Rukh Khan
July 27, 2008
Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuselan’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Billoo Barber’ are both remakes of the Malayalam hit film ‘Katha Parayumbol’.Shah Rukh Khan got quite anxious when he heard that Superstar Rajinikanth’s Tamil film ‘Kuselan’ is ready for a release in August. His previous film ‘Sivaji’ drew attention from almost all over India when it had reached the halls. Based on this feedback, the producers of ‘Kuselan’ had planned to release the Hindi dubbed version while the movie hits the cinema halls in south.
On the other hand, King Khan had decided to complete his movie and have it released for Diwali. He was also confident of getting his film first to the theaters. Shah Rukh panicked that the impact of ‘Billoo Barber’ will be damaged if ‘Kuselan’ also reaches people at the same time, both carrying out the same story.
Upon Shah Rukh’s request, Rajinikanth agreed and assured him that ‘Kuselan’ in Hindi will reach the crowd only after Diwali, much after ‘Billoo Barber’.
