Shahid speaks

July 17, 2008

Shahid has several interesting upcoming projects. One is with Yash Raj films, another one with Vishal Bharadwaj, and finally his dad Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut that he is really looking forward to.

“I am excited about my dad’s venture,” he says. Speaking about his latest release ‘Kismat Konnection’ he recalls, “It was our first day at the shoot and everybody was kind of nervous as to how we will get along. Vidya did it in a sweet way — she walked up to me in front of everybody and said, ‘Can I have your autograph?’ Everybody started laughing and we just clicked from there.” In fact, we are all waiting to watch the magical and most talked about chemistry between the Shahid and Vidya that has been in the air for many months now!

“Aziz uncle is a great director. Initially, I had thought that it would be difficult to adjust with him because of the age difference between us. But, he was easy going and there was no pressure on the sets,” he said.

Talking about other films that he has liked recently, Shahid said they are ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Chak De! India’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’. “I would love to work with the directors of these films — Aamir Khan, Shimit Amin and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.” He considers ‘Jab We Met’ as one of the best films in the recent past. “I think it is one of the most incredible films, and Imtiaz did a great job,” he affirms.
