Can I download videos from the DesiLassi website?

We don't allow the downloading of DesiLassi videos as it would be a violation of copyright.

Can I upload my videos on the DesiLassi website?

Currently, we are not allowing users to create their own space with customized content. Although, we are considering adding this feature in the near future. For now, we are working at personalizing DesiLassi for each user. A user will be able to create a playlist and arrange the existing DesiLassi content in his own way.

Why am I unable to view the videos?

Your internet connection might be slow. Most often, that's the reason why a song doesn't play for some users.
Another reason could be you don't have the latest version of flash installed. Please install flash player by clicking here.
One small tip that we can give to make viewing the songs easier: once you have chosen the video you have to just pause it and allow the video to stream fully and then play it.

Why am I getting interruptions while viewing the videos?

You are experiencing interruptions because your bandwidth isn't fast enough (we recommend 128 kbps speed as minimum for smooth viewing)

Can I print the lyrics?

Sure. You may download, print and enjoy the lyrics we provide. You can also print the translation & transliterations we offer for each song.

What software do I use to open the lyrics file?

To open the lyrics file, you have to use Acrobat Reader. It can be downloaded here.

Do you have movies that can be viewed online?

No, we do not provide entire movies on DesiLassi.

Do you have Mp3 songs?

We do not have MP3 songs. But we might consider adding them in the future if we can negotiate the copyright.

How often do you add new videos in the site?

DesiLassi is updated every week with absolutely the latest videos (trailers, promos, interviews, music albums etc). Keep checking on us every week for new and exclusive content...

Why do you have songs with subtitles in the same language?

DesiLassi is an off-shoot of www.planetread.org. PlanetRead, the parent organization of DesiLassi, is a not for profit enterprise, with the simple vision of a reading planet - a planet where everyone can read and has access to interesting and affordable reading opportunities in native and other language(s). PlanetRead contributes to literacy worldwide by innovating and implementing simple, scalable, and cost-effective solutions, especially using mass media and information technologies. Same language subtitling is one such method for promoting literacy to the people.

Why don't you provide the latest songs?

We make an attempt to bring you the latest content but since DesiLassi only displays songs for which it receives copyrights, at times it takes a while to obtain them. But we bring you trailers and promos absolutely hot from the oven and you will always get the latest ones on our site!

What will DesiLassi do with my contact information?

We respect the privacy of our users and email IDs and other contact information collected are never shared with any other company. Under no circumstance will the personal details of our visitors be used to send unsolicited emails or be divulged to a third party.
